Honouring lives. Supporting families. Serving Wonthaggi and the Bass Coast.
Milkins Funerals has been part of the Wonthaggi community for over 50 years, offering thoughtful, respectful care to families during life’s most difficult moments. Built on trust and tradition, Milkins is known for personal service, local understanding, and a quiet strength that comes from generations of experience.
We have earned our trust through compassion, dignity, and personal attention.
While now under new ownership, we remain committed to honouring that legacy—reviving the values that made Milkins a trusted name in the community. With renewed energy, experienced hands, and a deep respect for local traditions, we’re here to ensure that every family is supported with warmth, respect, and unwavering care.
Planning ahead with Milkins Funerals allows you to document your wishes, lock in today’s prices, and give your loved ones the space to grieve—free from decision-making stress.
We offer funeral bonds and pre-arrangements stored in our system until they’re needed.
Held in a church, chapel, or meaningful venue with family and friends present
A ceremony held without the coffin present (before or after cremation/burial)
A more uplifting, personalised approach focused on storytelling, music, and memories

We want to assure families that their loved one is treated with the utmost care, dignity, and respect while in our care. Our mortuary technician is qualified and trained to the highest industry standards and follows a strict code of ethics. We are committed to ongoing training to maintain best practices.
Mortuary care is a behind-the-scenes responsibility that we take very seriously. It reflects the trust families place in us. Every step is done with compassion and professionalism.
Once the service is over, there can still be many emotions and unanswered questions. If you feel overwhelmed, uncertain or alone, please know that this is normal.
While Milkins Funeral Services is not a counseeling service, we can help arrange an initial consultation with a trusted grief counsellor in your area.
If there are ashes to be collected, we’ll contact you to arrange pickup, interment, or scattering—as previously discussed. For those wishing to inter ashes at a cemetery, you’ll need to contact the cemetery trust for your chosen site.
If you’ve chosen not to have a service, you may still consider a small memorial gathering in the future. There’s no fixed timeframe for grief— and no single way to honour a loved one. You’re not alone in this. We’re here if you need us.
